The Giro d’Italia Donne 2021 (also known as Giro Rosa) was the 32nd edition of the Giro d’Italia Femminile, a road cycling stage race for women. The third stage on July 4, 2021 was a 135-kilometer road race and went from Casale Monferrato to Ovada.

In this stage, the women riders from the Netherlands showed their skills. They took the first two places. Marianne Vos from Team Jumbo-Visma took the victory ahead of Lucinda Brand from Team Trek-Segafredo. Third place went to German professional cyclist Liane Lippert of Team DSM.

The 2021 Giro d’Italia Donne (commonly known as the Giro Rosa) was the 32nd edition of the Giro d’Italia Femminile women’s road cycling stage race. The second stage was a road race over 100.1 kilometers from Boves to Prato Nevoso.

In this stage the SD Worx team showed its class and took the first three places. The winner was Anna van der Breggen ahead of Ashleigh Moolman and Demi Vollering.

The 2021 Giro d’Italia Donne (commonly known as the Giro Rosa) was the 32nd edition of the Giro d’Italia Femminile women’s road cycling stage race. The race started on 2 July with a Team Time Trial over 26.7 kilometers from Fossano to Cuneo.

Ten teams took part in the time trial. The winner of the race was the Trek-Segafredo team. The professional women rode the course in 33 minutes and 40 seconds. Team SD Worx followed in second place eight seconds later and Team Alé BTC Ljubljana in third place, 40 seconds behind the leader. The other placings: Canyon-SRAM, Movistar Team, Team Jumbo-Visma, Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling, Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank, Team DSM and Team BikeExchange.

The German Elite Road Cycling Championships 2021 took place on June 19 and 20, 2021 in Stuttgart and the surrounding region. The road race of the German Road Cycling Championships started in Filderstadt-Bernhausen on June 20, 2021. From there it went to the circuit to Stuttgart-Degerloch, where the and the men completed 25 laps (185.3 km). In each lap, 122 meters of altitude had to be covered. Out of 198 starters, 48 riders crossed the finish line.

Winner of the road race was Maximilian Schachmann, who won his second German championship title in the road race after 2019. Second place went to Jonas Koch and third place went to Georg Zimmermann.

The German Road Cycling Championships Elite 2021 took place on June 19 and 20, 2021 in Stuttgart and the surrounding region. The road race of the German Road Cycling Championships started on June 20, 2021 in Filderstadt-Bernhausen. From there, the race headed to the circuit in Stuttgart-Degerloch, where the women completed 14 laps (107.2 km). In each lap 122 meters of altitude had to be covered. Out of 91 female athletes, 36 crossed the finish line.

The winner of the elite women’s road race was Lisa Brennauer, who had already won the individual time trial. Second place went to Liane Lippert ahead of Ricarda Bauernfeind in third place. On the other places: Kathrin Hammes, Hannah Ludwig, Carolin Schiff, Clara Koppenburg, Lisa Klein, Tanja Erath and Corinna Lechner.

Competitions in road racing, individual time trials and the German mountain championships are organized. The 2021 edition of the German Cycling Championships, which was still affected by the Corona Pandemic, took place in the Stuttgart region without spectators. In addition to the men’s and women’s elite, Germany’s young cyclists also raced, including the U23.

The first stage of the men’s race of the 84th Tour de Suisse on 6 June 2021 was an individual time trial over 10.9 kilometres in Frauenkron. The Swiss Stefan Küng won with a four-second lead over his compatriot Stefan Bissegger. Italian Matia Cattaneo came third.

The overall winner was Elizabeth Deignan from Team Trek-Segafredo Women who took the Tour de Suisse 2021 title ahead of Swiss road champion Elise Chabbey.

The women’s race of the Tour de Suisse 2021 (TDS Women) went over 2 stages. The first stage in Frauenfeld went to the Swiss road champion Elise Chabbey. After 114.3 km she finished just ahead of Elizabeth Deignan (GBR) and Mikayla HARVEY from New Zealand (CANYON//SRAM RACING.

The traditional cycling race the International Thuringia Tour of Women takes place annually in eastern Thuringia. Since 2017 officially LOTTO Thuringia Ladies Tour. The Stage locations include the towns of Zeulenroda-Triebes, Schleiz, Greiz, Gera and Schmölln, as well as Dörtendorf. The Tour is classified in the highest UCI category and is the only professional stage race for women in Germany. In 2020, the race was cancelled due to the Corona pandemic. In 2021, the LOTTO Thuringia Ladies Tour was held at the end of May. Six stages were held between May 25 and May 30:

1st stage around Schmölln: The winner of the 88.9-kilometer stage was Emma NORSGAARD Emma of Team Movistar Team Women ahead of Lucinda BRAND of Team Trek and Lotte KOPECKY Lotte of National Team Belgium.

2nd stage around Gera: The winner of the 125.1 km stage was Lorena WIEBES from Team DSM ahead of Emma NORSGAARD from Team Movistar Team and Christine MAJERUS Christine from Team SD Worx.

3rd stage around Schleiz: The winner of the 116,5 km stage was Lucinda BRAND from Team Trek ahead of Emma NORSGAARD Emma from Team Movistar Team Women and Lotte KOPECKY Lotte from National Team Belgium.

Stage 4 Around Dörtendorf: The fourth stage of the 33rd LOTTO Thüringen Ladies Tour was won by Belgian champion Lotte Kopecky of the Belgian national team. Second was Lucinda Brand (Trek Segafredo), who also managed to capture the yellow LOTTO Thüringen Leaders jersey. Liane Lippert (Team DSM) finished third.

5th stage around Weimar: Lucinda Brand of Team Trag-Segafredo managed to win the difficult fifth stage around Weimar in a solo effort. The Dutchwoman was able to leave Lorena Wiebes (Team DSM) and Emma Norsgaard (Movistar Women Team) behind.

Stage 6 Around Gotha: The last of six stages went to Lorena Wiebes (Team DSM) ahead of Belgian Lotte Kopecky (National Team Belgium), who secured the sprinter’s jersey in the overall classification. Third place went to Emilia Fahlin of Team FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope. The winner of this year’s once again impressive LOTTO Thüringen Ladies Tour was Lucinda Brand of Team Trek-Segafredo although she finished sixth on the final stage.

Julian Alaphilippe is a French professional cyclist. His greatest successes to date have been the world road race titles in 2020 and 2021.

In addition, he won the UCI WorldTour races Milan-Sanremo 2019, Flèche Wallone 2018, 2019, 2021 and the Clásica San Sebastián 2018. Furthermore, six victorious stages of the Tour de France as well as winning the mountain jersey of the Tour de France once in 2018 and a stage at de Vuelta a España in 2017 stand as the most important titles.

The Festival luxembourgeois du Cyclisme Féminin Elsy Jacobs, formerly also known as the Grand Prix Elsy Jacobs, is a now legendary professional cycling race over several days for women. The race, named after Elsy Jacobs, winner of the first women’s road world championship (1958), has been held in Garnich in Luxembourg since 2008.
Last year, the stage race did not take place due to the Corona pandemic. This year, Denmark’s Emma Norsgaard Jørgensen won after two outstanding stage victories. She thus replaces Lisa Brennauer from Germany, who won the title in 2019.

The Scheldeprijs (nl., formerly also: Grote Scheldeprijs, Scheldeprijs Vlaanderen or Scheldeprijs Schoten, Engl.: Schelde Prize, Grand Schelde Prize, Schelde Prize Flanders, Schelde Prize Schoten) is the oldest one-day race in the world. Named after the river Schelde, the road cycling race was first held in Flanders, Belgium, in 1907. The route runs from Antwerp to Schoten.

In the April 2021 race, Belgian Jasper Philipsen won the Scheldeprijs. In the process, he trumped the actual title favorite, Irishman Sam Bennett. Third place went to Mark Cavendish. The best German was Pascal Ackermann from Team bora-hansgrohe in 6th place.

The Tour of Flanders (“De Ronde van Vlaanderen”, “Vlaanderens mooiste”) is one of the most popular one-day races in Belgium. The cycle race is one of the five monuments of cycling. The traditional women’s race now (since 2016) takes place as part of the newly introduced UCI Women’s WorldTour. “De Ronde van Vlaanderen” traditionally takes place in the spring.

The winner in 2021 (4. April) was Annemiek van Vleuten (netherland) from Movistar Team. Second place went to Lisa Brennauer (Ceratizit – WNT Pro Cycling Team) from Germany. She won the sprint ahead of Grace Brown (Team BikeExchange).
